Transform Dark Spaces With Natural Light
That dark hallway. The gloomy bathroom. The living room that always needs lights on. A skylight changes everything—flooding your space with natural light that no amount of artificial lighting can match.
We install skylights that actually work—proper flashing that won't leak, quality units with manufacturer warranties, and professional installation that lasts. One day of work, years of natural light.
Why Add a Skylight to Your Home?
Natural Light
Skylights bring in 3x more light than vertical windows. Transform any dark space without using more floor or wall space.

Bright, naturally-lit homes are more attractive to buyers. Skylights add both function and appeal.
Ventilation
Vented skylights release hot air and moisture. Perfect for bathrooms, kitchens, and any space that gets stuffy.

Site Assessment
We inspect your roof structure, ceiling cavity, and the room below. We'll recommend the best skylight type and size, and identify any obstacles or complications.
Roof Opening
We carefully remove tiles or cut metal to create the opening, ensuring surrounding roofing isn't disturbed. Framework is added to support the skylight.
Flashing & Sealing
Quality flashing kit installed according to manufacturer specs. This is the most critical step for preventing leaks—we use proper flashings, not silicone shortcuts.
Shaft Construction
For vaulted ceilings, we build an insulated shaft connecting the skylight to your ceiling. For flat ceilings, a light tunnel or splayed shaft maximizes light distribution.
Finishing & Cleanup
Interior trim and diffuser installed for a neat finish. We clean up all debris and walk you through skylight operation and care.

Skylight Installation FAQs
What type of skylight is best for my home?
It depends on your space and goals. Fixed skylights are most common and affordable—great for living areas and bedrooms where you just want light. Vented skylights open for ventilation, perfect for bathrooms and kitchens. Tubular skylights work in small spaces like hallways and laundries where traditional skylights won't fit. We'll assess your roof, ceiling, and what you want to achieve to recommend the best option.
How much does skylight installation cost?
Skylight installation costs vary based on the type of skylight, your roof type, ceiling height, and accessibility. Tubular skylights are the most affordable option, while vented (opening) skylights with electric operation cost more. All quotes include the skylight unit, flashing kit, shaft construction (if needed), and professional installation. Contact us for a specific quote based on your needs.
Will installing a skylight cause my roof to leak?
Not if installed correctly. Skylights have a reputation for leaking because of poor DIY installations or cheap flashings. We use quality flashings designed for your roof type (tile or metal), follow manufacturer specifications exactly, and stand behind our work with a 10-year warranty on workmanship. In our experience, properly installed skylights don't develop leaks.
How long does skylight installation take?
Most skylight installations are completed in one day. A simple tubular skylight takes 2-4 hours. Standard fixed or vented skylights take 4-6 hours. If significant shaft construction is needed (for high ceilings or accessing difficult spaces), it may extend to a second day. We'll give you a clear timeline before starting.
Can skylights be installed on any roof?
Most roofs can accommodate skylights, but some are easier than others. Tile roofs are straightforward with correct flashing. Metal roofs require specific flashing systems but work well. Very low-pitched roofs may need special considerations. We'll inspect your roof and advise on feasibility—occasionally we recommend against installation if conditions aren't suitable.
Do skylights make rooms too hot in summer?
They can if you choose the wrong glazing. Modern skylights come with different glazing options: clear glass (most light, most heat), tinted glass (reduces heat gain), and Low-E glass (blocks UV and heat while letting light through). For Australian conditions, we typically recommend Low-E glass. Vented skylights can also release hot air, improving summer comfort.
What brands of skylights do you install?
We primarily install Velux skylights—they're the industry standard for quality, come with excellent warranties, and have the widest range of sizes and options. We also install Solatube and Brightstar tubular skylights for smaller spaces. All are Australian-rated for our climate conditions. We can source other brands on request.
Can you add a skylight to a bathroom without ceiling access?
Tubular skylights are perfect for this. They use a small roof opening, flexible reflective tube, and a ceiling diffuser. They can bend around obstacles and fit through tight spaces. Many bathrooms without direct roof access can still get natural light with a tubular solution.
